Unidentified Network and Slow computer
Hi I'll try to kep this short. Basically I have been having a problem when copying files across to my NAS server, my computer would slow right down so its pretty much unusable. This was ok, but I have just installed a new graphics card (going from a nvidia 8600gts to an ATI 3870 x2, so a lot more powerful), this now means I get the error of unidentified network and my computer is almost unusuable due to the whole network problem I mention earlier. I have tried going back to my old graphics card and the problem was sorted, but then going back to my new graphics card, the problem returned. If I unplug the network cable, then my pc speeds back up again. I cannot think of anything to fix this, I have even reinstalled windows vista, and still the same problem. I did think this could perhaps be a power issue, but I have a 600 watt psu and the reccomended psu is a 550 watt. Any ideas on what else i could try? I thought maybe buying a dedicated network card rather than using the onbooard lan, or buying a more powerful psu.

Hi, As the issue only occurs when using the ATI 3870 x2 graphic card, and disappears if you replace the graphic card with old one. I suspect it is a hardware collision issue, thus we are not the best resource for this issue. I suggest contacting AMD manufacturer, they are better qualified to assist you.
