Unidentified Network Using Hardwired Ethernet Cable
Hello, I have looked on this forum and not found a solution to my problem. I have a hardwired ethernet cable to my modem but I cannot connect to the web due to an unidentified network. When I run IPCONFIG I get the following: Ethernet Adaptor Local Area Connection: Connection-Specific DNS Suffix : Link Local IPv6 Address: fe80::2c2b:8e00:fa8c:b90e%8 Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address: 169.254.185.14 Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0 Default Gateway: I have tried the following here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233/en-gb This is a solution to set the DHCP Bradcast Flag to 1. I should be able to see the Ethernet Adaptor details here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\{GUID} but nowhere do I see them to reset the DHCP Broadcast Flag. In fact I only have four GUID's and I have reset the two DHCP Broadcast Flags that I can reset to 1. But this does not work. I really do not know what to try next. Can anyone help with this problem?
