Unauthorized Versions--Getting bugs fixed
For Ronnie Vernon-- I understand, I think, that any posts that are done here (since this is a public forum) should only address issues in builds that have been CPP release. To date that is Build 7000, and sometime in the next couple months, or so, I suppose then it will be the RC (whichever build that happens to be). I appreciate your point. One would intuitively think that bugs that are in newer builds would be in older builds, but that's not always the case. Sometimes it's two steps forward and one step back in Beta builds.I know workaround fixes for all 3 bugs that I posted as questions, and if there is a place to post them here appropriately I would like to.I can post them as bugs or problems in Build 7000 as I understand it.To maximize their getting fixed, I will make sure that report them on the "send feedback" link or port, feed them back to Steve Sinofsky on his public blog, and email someone on the team that owns them or the PM on the team that owns them when I can ferret this out precisely. I want to maximize their getting fixed, and in the case of one GP Edit workaround, make sure that the team that owns this vets it as a bug.If you are testing different builds, and want to get feedback on the bugs'g fixinoutside Connect's Beta Mechanism, that seems to be impossible unless you were to communicate with a specific team member and they updated you on the status of what you knew to be a bug and didn't want to ship as RTM which was the case in Vista in unfortunate numbers.I hope I have this understood correctly. As far as I understand it then, these forums are for publically released builds. Let me know if I misconstrued this. Thanks for all your time and work here and on past newsgroups.

Hi MeshIf you look at my post in theWindows 7 Unauthorized Versionsthread, you will understand that these interim builds are only designed to test specific scenarios with the beta. They were never meant to be used for general bug reporting.Any testing or bug reporting beyond the issues for thesespecific scenarios is not part of how these interim builds are used. Right now, the beta teams are working on Build 7000. The next core build for testing will be the RC build.Thank you for understanding.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Beta Ronnie Vernon MVPForum Moderator
