Without more detail, it is virtually impossible to go in a constructive direction. How do you know your computer has been accessed?Assuming the access was through Windows Networking, here are a few things that you might consider:If you connect to the internet directly from your Computer to a Modem, consider purchasing a Router and placing it between your Computer and the modem. A router will block most all unexpected inward connection attempts to your network. If you have a Wireless Router in your network, make sure you have wireless security enabled. WEP security has been cracked. WPA2 is currently the best choice for security on your router. Pick a good password. If you have XP Home or XP Pro with Simple File Sharing enabled, deactivate the Guest account. All network connections will authenticate through the Guest account. To do this, bring up a command prompt window (Start -> Run -> "cmd") then enter the command: net user guest /active:no If you have XP Pro with Simple File Sharing Disabled, then make sure the "Administrator" user has a password (by default, it doesn't). Also make sure all users on your computer have passwords in place.Consider installing a Firewall product on your computer. It is also possible that you have Malware on your computer that has opened up access. Download a program such asMalwarebytes and do a complete scan of your computer.HTH, JW

JW , I know this because they actually take the cursor and click on items plus they changed my settings & programs. When I try to change things back they stop me . As for as the malware I already have Malwarebytes downloaded & ran several scans , which come back negavitve. Thanks for the tips and I will see about trying these. If you have any more suggestions, Please let me Know. Sincerely , Merlin

It sounds like your access is through Remote Assistance or Remote Desktop or similar. If this is the case, here is a good article that may help you:"Securing Remote Desktop for Windows XP" < http://www.mobydisk.com/techres/securing_remote_desktop.html >It is also possible that you have another program loaded on your machine that performs the equivalent functions. Some of them are "UltraVNC" and "NetMeeting". Check for the presence of these programs on your computer and remove them or see if you can remove their exception in the Windows Firewall. It's probably a good idea to pull the network plug when making these changes to prevent outside interference.HTH, JW

JW, yes I have "NetMeeting" , I tried to remove it , but system tells me another person is using it , & will not let me . I did go and disable it in admin. serv. tools; but to no avail, they are still able to get in. Also visited "mobydisk" & did as they suggested, there again to no avail. I checked windows firewall & it is O.K. , so the system tells me. If you have anymore suggestion ,Please let me know, Thank you , sincerely, Merlin

Try the procedure here for removing NetMeeting: < http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org/how_do_i_remove_netmeeting.htm >Otherwise, go to the Control Panel -> Windows Firewall, click on the "Exceptions" tab, and remove the check from infront of "Remote Desktop". If there is a line for NetMeeting, you can remove the check from infront of that one, too.Best I can do...HTH,-- JW
