Unauthorised Internal LAN Access
Apologies if this is in the wrong forum. I need to figure out how to prevent staff members who come into work with their home laptops and disconnect the LAN cable from their desktop computer and plug that same cable into their laptop computer and surf the net.etc Is there any way of stopping this. The offending client is a VISTA laptop, but can also be XP, I would like advic e on how to lock down each and every LAN cable/hub port/ router, re what software/hardware is needed. What tools do I need to make sure that every computer on my network is in fact one of ours and not one rife with malware etc brought from the home of a staff member.?Our servers are safethoughregistered server accounts needed to etc. Thanks Rob

You may try to deploy 802.1x. The following are some documents for your reference, hope it would be helpful: IEEE 802.1X Authentication for Wireless and Wired Connections http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/columns/cableguy/cg0402.mspx Deployment of IEEE 802.1X for Wired Networks Using Microsoft Windows http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=05951071-6b20-4cef-9939-47c397ffd3dd&displaylang=en IEEE 802.1X for Wired Networks and Internet Protocol Security with Microsoft Windows http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=d9aef757-f528-41be-a01f-99a60c9a855d&displaylang=en
