Unable to use Network Connection Properties Dialog Box to alter settings
Using my laptop (with Vista Ultimate)I have been trying to connect to a wireless network. Everything appears to work bu the DNS Server is always unavailiable. Connections will only work via IPAddress. When I try to view or change the setting for the connection I get to the Wireless Network Connection Properties dialog but at this point I find that: (a) The properties button is disabled for all items (b) Clicking on the configure button produces a dialog box that states ""You have made changes to the properties of this connection. If you proceed your changes will be lost". This is in spite of no changes having been made (have tried numerous reboots with same effect) (c) Clicking yes will just close all dialogs. Also, as per usual , Windows XP and Windows Mobile can connect without issue. It is only Vista that has any problems Does anyone have any ideaon how to get simple network functionality to function correctly? TIA Nadreck

After further reading of some of the other threads in this forum (eg http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1958860&SiteID=17) it would appear that this isa "feature" of Vista that Microsoft have not be able/willing to respond to. It appears that the only reliable way to use Vista with a Wireless network is to ensure that the operating system is never installed.
