Unable to turn on Windows Firewall ICS and keep it on!
I am having a problem that I hope someone can help with. I have Windows XP, a Linksys Wireless-B Broadband router and a HP Photosmart C6380 wireless printer(using wireless). Every now and then the wireless printer will fail to print. I follow directions through the HP Solution Center which inevitably gets to restarting the computer. After a restart, the printer then works, but the Windows Firewall does not. When I try to turn on the windows firewall I get the message that the Windows ICS cannot start and therefore I can't turn on the firewall. If I follow the directions herehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/920074, I can fix the firewall and get everything working, but then eventually, usually a day or two later, the whole thing starts over, with the printer not working, etc. etc. How do I stop this vicious cycle? Thanks in advance for your help!1 person needs an answerI do too

It's long past time that you should have installed Service Pack 3. Do you have sp2 or sp3 installed (Start > Run > winver > OK)?Which method suggested in the article have you been using? What antivirus application, including version, do you use? Is your subscription current? What other "security" software is installed? If you haven't recently scanned your computer with these two free antimalware scanners, do soMalwareBytes Anti-MalwareSUPERAntiSpywarePlease describe the printer problem that starts off this whole issue in a little more detail. If an error message comes up, please post it without paraphrasing.
