Unable to start Wireless Network Connection after changing my password. Now I do not have sufficient privileges to access.
I changed my password on my user ID, which is part of the Administrators Group. Now I can not enable Wireless services because oflack of privileges. I do not know the Administrator password as this use to be a company laptop (Old IBM T40) running XP.When I try to create a new user profile, I do not have the privileges to do so. I do not have a password reset disk for the Admin. I have tried using the started task facility to enable the service but can not due to privileges. How can I Start the Wireless service without Admin authority? Or, how can I reset my old user profile. Clearly I did something to modify my profile?Thank you so much! 1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi,The built-in Administrator account is disabled by default. It may be enabled in Safe Mode. If it is, you will see an icon for Administrator on the Welcome Screen in Safe Mode.a. When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account "Administrator" and sets its password to blank.b. Log in (the password will be a blank) and then go to Control Panel>User Accounts and change the password for your own user account to something you will remember.A description of the Safe Mode Boot options in Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315222If that does not work, then Microsoft Support Engineers cannot help you retrieve passwords of files and features in Microsoft products that are lost or forgotten.
