I am running Vista Home Premium sp2 on a Dell XPS 430 64 bit machine. I am having two problems that think are related. First, I noticed that I can’t share files or folders. When I try, I get an error, “An error occurred while trying to share XXXXXX . There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper”, XXXX being the name of whatever I’m trying to share After some poking around, I noticed that in the network properties, File Sharing, Printer Sharing, and Network discovery were off. When I tried to start them, I got an error “The Specified service does not exist as an installed service”. But when I look at the network properties for my connection, it is showing File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft networks as being installed and checked. Both the Server and Workstation services are running. I have searched on Microsoft and a few other sites, but haven’t been able to find anything relevant. Does anyone have any suggestions?
