Unable to send Email from within a Web page...
When I open a web page, e. g. a University's site and want to send an email within that site to "customer service" I get the error message below."The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'POP3', Server: 'SMTP', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D"

Do you have an e-mail client installed such as Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, Outlook, etc? If you are using Webmail, you can't do what you want to do. Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]

Thanks for any info you can give me. You can use Outlook Express, or Windows Live Mail, (not Windows Live Hotmail), to do what you want, but you have not set up an account.SMTP is not a Host or Server. Who is your server? Usually what is after the @ in your address.Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]
