Unable to see other servers on a VPN using Windows 7 Pro 32bit and Huawei E367 3G USB Mobile Broadband:
I’ve just brought a Huawei E367 3G USB modem for Mobile
Broadband. It works fine connecting to the internet on XP and
Windows 7 32bit Laptops so the device is working OK.
On both laptops I can access work using Cisco’s VPN client via
Ethernet or Wireless.
On the XP laptop when I connect to work using Cisco VPN Client, I
can authenticate using RSA and I can access all servers so it works
with the Cisco VPN Client.
However, when I access VPN using the 3G modem on the
Windows 7 32bit laptop I am able to authenticate and am shown as
connected, but I’m unable to ping any servers on the VPN.
The only difference I notice is when connecting wireless via VPN I
have two active networks:
With the wireless connection the Cisco client assumes the native
network name and shows connected to the Internet. There is also
the Unidentified Public Network that is the actual wireless
connection and no connection to the internet.
With the 3G connection the Cisco client does not assume the native
network name, but instead asks for a network location every time
(I’m now up to Network 10). This Network has no internet access.
The actual 3G connection retains its original name and shows
Access Type: Internet?

Hi 3GMike, you said..
With the 3G connection the Cisco client does not assume the native
network name, but instead asks for a network location every time
(I’m now up to Network 10). This Network has no internet access.
The actual 3G connection retains its original name and shows
Access Type: Internet?
(This may or may not apply to a Cisco client?)
Here I have similar. Mobile Broadband which initially used its own connection manager, and a LAN/ADSL configured through windows Networking that wouldn't acknowledge the 3G Optus connection. To Get the Windows Netwrk & sharing Centre to recognize
the Mobile broadband I needed to enter properties for the Network and go to profile and input the APN: yesbusiness - username - and password there and thereafter it all worked fine. With both connections showing in Network & sharing centre
with internet access concurrently/individually/or neither depending on the connection.
the Original connection manager for my Mobile Broadband now also displays both 3G (with SMS) and also the Wi-Fi connection. And can also connect and disconnect either service.
Hope that gives you some ideas. pkn2011

Hi,
Since you can connect VPN and it works fine in XP. I suggest that you may use following method to collect network configuration and try to
compare.
1.
Use “ipconfig -all” to export the IP configuration from both these machine.
2.
Use “route print” to export the route table.
3.
Try to use “tracert x.x.x.x” command to check the nodes which connection broken.
Please post the result here.
Also I want to know whether you can ping to the server using IP address?
