Unable to see desktop items when looking for a file to upload.

Ever since I went from WIN 8 to WIN 8.1, I can no longer see desktop items when attempting to grab a file to upload.

The upload file selector when looking in the Desktop tab, remains EMPTY although I have 40+ items on the desktop of all file types.

Hi

Please let us know what application you were using.

Did you select"All Files" on the Upload dialog box?

Meanwhile, please try using other application to see if the issue occurs.

Keep post.

Hi Kelvin.

It's the normal dialogue box by the Web browser (Firefox) for uploading a single image to a social media site. (I never did try to duplicate the error w/ I.E.)  I did get a tip yesterday about RAM and Page Filing. I had my Page Filing turned off because of the 16 gigs (G.SKILL) of RAM on my Asus board. This person advised against that and said I should let Windows manage the page filing size. I'm trying this today and will post the results after the weekend.

I'd like to hear anymore ideas you might have.

Thank you,

Lance

None of these suggestions have worked. The problem of the file dialogue when looking in the Desktop, is NOT showing any files. Blank box.

Hi Lance,

I'm not familiar with Firefox.

I suggest you try IE or other browser to narrow down this issue.

If it just occurred, it was related to Firefox.

Please try resetting Firefox or reinstalling it.

Also, I suggest you post it to Firefox support for help.
