Unable to restart BitLocker
I use BitLocker with USB device. I have suspended Bitlocker to install a PCI card on my computer (USB extension). When I try to restart bitlocker it says it cannot restart the TBS service (error code 0x80070005). The USB device contains the bitlocker key file and I can read it. My computer is working find but BitLocker still suspended. No way to restart it ! Thanks for your help.

Hi, This error can occur if the TPM Base Services is corrupted. I suggest you perform the following steps to troubleshoot the issue. 1. Try to copy the following file from another Windows 7 machine which BitLocker can work fine to the problematic machine. C:\Windows\System32\tbssvc.dll 2. Please also copy the following registry key from another Windows 7 machine and import the key on the current machine. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\TBS After that, please verify the TBS service again. If the issue persists, I suggest you use the System File Checker (SFC) to scan system files. 3. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. 4. Type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow The sfc /scannow command scans all system files and recover the corrupted ones. 5. Please restart the computer Thanks, Novak
