Unable to reinsatll windows 8 with recovery disc

Days ago decided to switch to SSD for fun. I try to "remove everything and reinstall windows" before cloning the windows

when the process started it indicated "could not find the files need. If you have a windows installation or recovery media, insert it and restart the PC from the media."

I purchased a copy of windows 8 recovery disc set from ACER my computer's manufacturer. I followed the instruction, start from a system boot disc, inserted the 3 recovery disc and so far so good... restore finish!

When the re-installation process reach reinstalling applications(?) 61/62 the computer suddenly black out..... I did this restore process with HD and SSD and get the same result.

No matter what tools eg: a rescue USB created when 1st time run the windows or some other external suggested tools, there was no success.

error code: 0XC000000F

Luckily, my windows 8 still work, I can clone the system to SSD and work from there too. The only thing that annoyance me is I can not reinstall windows because I want to work on a fresh copy of windows with SSD. By the way  it can not update from windows 8 to windows 8.1 either.  Every time the system run the update automatically at the end it has to roll back .

Please, do you have any solution?

Thank you for your patience

Are there any other external clues?  Otherwise try looking for some in any log files which would have been produced which are related to this event.

Also, what about the format of the USB drive versus the format of the original?

If your other machine is Windows 8 Pro you could create a Hyper-V virtual machine to test how this recovery stick is supposed to be used.  I have found some interesting analogies for black and "blank" screen boot scenarios that way.

Hi,

The system you want to reinstall is a OEM built-in Windows 8, isn't it? If that it is, it would be better to contact the manufacture of your computer to help you reinstall your system.

If not, since you want to switch system to SSD, it would be better to make clean install your system.

Thank you your time.

My machine is a windows 8 ACER laptop  it is not  pro version. I don't have any external attachment while I do the restore. About the USB  which was created during the first time I start up the machine years ago. I didn't do any format before I used it. And the USB was not the one I used to restore the system.  I used ACER's recovery disc set which I purchased recently. Hyper-V virtual machine, I don't know how to work with but thank you for your advice.

Thank you for your time.

You are right, I tried to reinstall an OEM windows 8 both from window's (settings | change PC settings | general | remove every thing and reinstall windows), and ACER's recovery disc set. Both ways were not success.

You suggested, "it would be better to make clean install your system." This is exactly what I did with the recovery disc set. After 2 hours of restoration the computer completely black out. Restart the computer I got the message process can not continue and gave the error code....

I  tried to ask ACER's support center, but after enter the computer's SNID a message said "your Acer product is no longer in warranty".

What else can I do? you know what I mean.

Hi,

How about disable Secure Boot or boot into legacy Bios model for test, have you tried yet? If not, please have a try.
