Unable to print anything with Windows 7 and Kodak ESP-9 printer
Every time I attempt to print anything on my new Kodak ESP-9 printer and Windows 7 which I recently installed on my desktop PC, my screen displays that the "program has encountered an error and needs to close". I can be online or offline and it makes no difference. The error message is the same. I installed the latest print drivers from the company's web site. However, that did not make any difference. I have determined that the printer is working, as I have a laptop PC that is also sharing the wi-fi feature of this printer, but with Vista. It works just fine. However, I'd really like to be able to print from my desktop computer as well. Anyone have an idea?

Hi deltuckChecking the documentation for that printer, it doesn't appear that Kodak supports installing on Windows 7. I would recommend following Adam's advice and try installing the Vista drivers in Compatibility Mode. You might also want to check with Kodak to see what their plans are for supporting that printer with Windows 7 drivers. They may even have a beta version of Windows 7 drivers available on request. Hey deltuck52, I have the same printer, also running windows 7. Go to this linkhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprohardware/thread/848255ec-adbb-4386-ab9b-14ce273da068 and follow "rdyates" instructions, works perfectly. And for wireless printing, make sure your firewall isn't blocking "spool" (thats not the correct name of it, I can't remember what it is called, something like spool or spooler) I am using BitDefender 2009, and when i went to connect the printer to my laptop wirelessly it said it couldn't find it. Make sure it is allowed under the firewall. After that everything should work. - Greg
