Hi, I suggest you try to disable IE protected mode to check the issue first. 1. Click Start button, type inetcpl.cpl (without quotation marks) in the Search bar and press Enter. 2. Switch to Security tab, uncheck Enable Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer) box and click OK. If it does not work, I also suggest you change the permission for your picture folder to check the issue. 1. Right click on your picture folder and click Properties. 2. Switch to Security tab and click Edit button. 3. Click Add button, add Everyone (without quotation marks) group and click OK. 4. Highlight Everyone, Allow this group Full control and click OK. Whats the result? If the issue persists, would you please upload the following information to SkyDrive and provide us the link for analyzing? Run Process Monitor ===================== 1. Please download "Process Monitor" from the following link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx 2. Right click on the downloaded file and click "Extract All". 3. Follow the instructions on the screen to extract all the files to a folder, such as "ProcessMonitor". 4. Open the "ProcessMonitor" folder and double click on the "Procmon.exe" file to launch the program. Note: Please click Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt. 5. Click "Filter" -> "Reset Filter" to reset the filter. 6. Click the "Capture" (Reading glass) button on the toolbar to stop the current capture and click the "Clear" (Eraser) button to clear the contents. 7. After that, please try to reproduce the error message. 8. Before the error occurs, please click the "Capture" (Reading glass) button in the ProcessMonitor program to start capture. 9. When you receive the original error message, please click the "Capture" (Reading glass) button again to stop the capture. Note: By doing so, we are able to track the entire problematic processes. 10. After that, please click the "Save" button to save the log and send it to me. I will help you analyze it on my side. Arthur Li - MSFT

disabling protected mode clears that up, so it means I have to be unprotected now?

Hi, This issue can be related to User Account Control (UAC). With UAC enabled, the lowest privilege is assigned to users. We need to elevate the privilege level when performing administrative functions. By doing this, unintentional operations can be prevented to protect the system. Now, I suggest you enable Protected Mode again and try the following steps to check if it works also. Click Start, right click Internet Explorer and click Run as administrator. Whats the result?Arthur Li - MSFT

Hi, Whats the result when running IE as administrator? As I have explained, with UAC enabled, the lowest privilege is assigned to users. We need to elevate the privilege level when performing administrative functions. By doing this, unintentional operations can be prevented to protect the system. Thanks for your understanding. If you does not like this feature, you may disable it. Disable UAC ========== 1. Click the Start Button, type "User account control" and press Enter. 2. When the User account control settings box appears, move the slider to Never notify. 3. Click OK. Good luck!Arthur Li - MSFT

well disabling uac and/or running as a admin should not have anything to do with this.why wernt these features added to the exeption list when they integrated ie 8 into windows 7?its like qc was flushed down the toilet.there should be no reasonI need to run as admin or disable uac. these a basic ie features even vista never had any of these issues with uac or ie8. so it comes down to shoddy programming and yet anohter bug in the OS.
