Unable to preview images in Windows7 Explorer
I have tried all tips/tricks available “online” but still unable to preview images in Explorer and quite handicapped because of this. Tried steps from MSDN blogs: · Removing “Always show icons, never thumbnails” from Folder options. · Making Windows Photo viewer as the Default Programany pointers on what steps i need to follow next ? Hi,This could be caused by corrupted cache.Try to take the following steps to check the result:Rebuild the Icon Cache ================== 1. Boot the computer into Safe Mode. 2. Launch Task Manager using the CTRL+SHIFT+ESC. 3. In the Process tab, right-click on the Explorer.exe process and select End Process. 4. From the File menu of Task Manager, select New Task (Run…) 5. Type CMD.EXE and press Enter. 6. In the Command Prompt window, run the commands one by one: CD /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local DEL IconCache.db /a 7. In Task Manager, click File, select New Task (Run…) 8. Type EXPLORER.EXE and press Enter. 9. Restart the computer into Normal Mode.

Safe mode provide a stable environment in case this procedure will affact any program installed on your computer. To boot into Safe mode:Restart the computer and start pressing the F8 key on the keyboard. On a computer that is configured to boot multiple Operating Systems, press the F8 key when you see the boot menu. When the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select Safe Mode, and then press Enter. Log onto Windows by using the Administrator account or any user account with Administrator privileges.

When did this first occur? If recently, system restore should be under consideration.Test in new account in case your user profile is corrupted somehow.Create a new user account============1. Click the Start Button, and then click Control Panel. 2. Click switch to a Classic View in left panel. 3. Double-click User Accounts.4. Click Manage another account.Note: Please click Continue if the User Account Control (UAC) window prompts. 5. Click "Create a new account".6. Type in the account name and select choose an account type (For Example: Administrator or Standard user). Then, click Create Account.
