Unable to ping internal LAN network connected to an 8 port switch
Hello friends, We have ISP connected to a D-Link SOHO router and the SOHO router is connected to D-Link 8 port switch and the switch is connected to just 4 computers and a Network Printer. ISP -> D-Link SOHO Router -> D-Link 8 port Switch -> ( Computers + Network Printer ). All systems are in 192.168.1.X series and D.G is 192.168.1.1. Printer's static ip: 192.168.1.25, S.M: 255.255.255.0, D.G: 192.168.1.1, DNS: 192.168.1.1. NOW: Unable to ping between any systems or printer. Disabled Firewall, Antivirus, restarted computer. Still no go. Disconnected the ISP connector and the D-Link router and used only the 8-port switch and assigned static ip address to all computers. NOW ABLE TO PING !!! Connected the D-Link Router Back, again no ping !!! Disabled DHCP on router. Now, some times they ping and some times, not. What is stopping from the pinging ? Appreciate your Kind Help. Thank You All In Advance.

You may play with cables. Crossover cable perhaps? Between SOHO and D-Link?

Hi, Maybe some the settings between the router the switch not configured well. I suggest reset them to the factory settings to check the result, and you can also contact D-Link support for help. Regards, Vincent Wang TechNet Community Support
