Unable to open picture attachments in e mail
I have been using microsft outlook for years and sending and receiving picture attachments without any problems. Suddenly when I receive a picture and try to open it Outlook Express appears and asks for a password, the pass word box has the password in it blocked out of course but when I click nothing happens. Outlook is my default browser. This happens whether I use picasa or send from a picture in my picture files. I have tried deleting outlook express but it appears to still lurk in my machine. My cable provider was no help they do not provide support for outlook. Need some help, geegee10 1 person needs an answerI do too

You have to make MS Outlook the default e-mail program. It apparently doesn't think it is. How to make Outlook the default mail client: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223877 If that article is not enough, please seek further assistance here. Microsoft Office Outlook Forums http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/officeoutlook Also, while you can't remove Outlook Express, there are two methods to keep it from opening. 1: Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Add/Remove Windows Components. Uncheck Outlook Express. 2: In Outlook Express: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Write the location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer or, copy and paste it into Start | Run. In WinXP, Win2K & Win2K3, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options Icon | View, or in Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View. Find the Inbox.dbx file. Right click | Properties and make it Read Only. OE won't even start now.Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]
