Unable to logon to Windows 7 machines with more than 25 user profiles
We have recently begun noticing issues logging into some of our Windows XP Professional and Windows 7 Professional domain workstations. Both domain users who have previously logged onto these machines and users new to the machine are unable to log on. Reported symptoms include “Boot Failure” and “inability to login to a network user profile”. Upon investigating we have determined the affected machines all contain more than 25 user profiles. (Machines containing less than 25 user profiles do not appear to be affected.) At this time we have been unable to find any documentation that would indicate a limit on the number of user profiles on in use on these machines. However, removing the user profiles by deleting them from the Windows \Users folder and the registry does resolve the issue and allows all users to access the machine. We are seeking any advice on how we could better resolve this issue. Additionally these machines are being in used in a lab \ classroom setting where they will be potentially access by a significant number of users. Any recommendations on how we remotely manage (audit & remove) outdated users profiles would also be appreciated. Thank You,

Hi, Thanks for the post! I recommend you use the Group Policy to manage the user profiles.
