Unable to edit MP3 properties in Windows 7
Sorry if this is a duplicate thread- I did some extensive searching and found problems similar to mine, but none that offered any help. I transitioned to Win7 just yesterday, and everything seems to be working great. However, when I fired up WMP and imported all my music, several albums went to the 'Unknown Artist' category. Being extremely OCD about the organization of my music, I'd never allow this to happen. I went into my Music folder and tried to edit the properties of the offending files. Whether i try to edit the ID3 info by right-clicking and hitting 'Properties,' or doing it right in the Explorer window, I get the error message: Error 0x8007000D: The data is invalid. I'm not sure what this means. I open the mp3s and they play just fine. I even tried deleting those, and replacing them with the corresponding albums on my mp3 player. I get the same error. The error message would make a lot more sense if those mp3's didn't play, but they do. I'm at a loss here. If you have experienced a similar problem, or know of some way to rectify this situation, your help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!

Hi there, It seems that the metadata of the music is not fully compatible with Windows 7.On my computer, I can change the tag of the .mp3 files without error. In addition, some users resolved the issue by changing the ID3 from version 2.4 to 2.3 via third-party software. Please try the following tool: http://download.mp3tag.de/mp3tagv245asetup.exe You can also try change the tag to another type or reset it. NOTE: please backup the music file before modifying it. Please let me know the result.
