I'm using Windows 7 SP1 and since the Sept 6th update I have not been able to download any files from any site even Microsoft sites all are reported as unsafe. I can not download windows updates any longer either. I have disabled my antivirus software (I use Avast)and the problem persists. The error informaton box references digital certificates beeing an issue. Has any one seen this error? Thanks Steve

I know of this problem in different circumstances... I had a problem with my certificates because my system date was off... Try checking to make sure your system date and time is correct The other time I had this problem, it was a virus that replaced windows security center... In which caseo running sfc /scannow from cmd prompt solved my issueIf you want something you've never had, you need to do something you've never done.

Thank you for the ideas. I will give them a try. I really think I have been infected by a rootkit or something. Steve
