Unable to connect to windows service error in Win7-64bit
Hi, I have been recently having this error in Win7-64bit regarding unable to connect to windows service when i startup. I lose my Aero bar at the bottom. I have noticed that this occurs when i bring my laptop to my work/office which has Wifi connection. It is fine when i use it at my residence which connects to the network via Cat5 cable. I think this could be causing the error. All my applications work fine but i am not sure why this error occurs. I try to restart and it hangs and i have to force shutdown the PC and restart and again this happens. Sometimes, it starts ok. I think another user in the forum had this same problem. I am using the HP8540w mobile workstation. Please let me know how to send in the Event log files and i will do it. Thanks a lot!

Hi, First, please provide the full error message information for us. You mentioned you lost the Aero bar, please capture a screenshot for us: How to capture a screenshot ========================= 1) Press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard. 2) Click the "Start" menu, type "mspaint" in the Search Bar and Press Enter. 3) In the Paint program, click the "Edit" menu, click "Paste", click the "File" menu, and click "Save". 4) The "Save As" dialogue box will appear. Type a file name in the "File name:" box, for example: "screenshot". 5) Make sure "JPEG (*.JPG;*.JPEG;*.JPE;*.JFIF)" is selected in the "Save as type" box, click “Desktop” on the left pane and then click "Save". 6) Then Upload to SkyDrive. Based on your description, this issue only occurred in your work environment, and you have not this issue before. I suggest you could take the following steps to check it: 1. Check if there are any changes in your system recently. 2. Go to services to check “WLAN Autoconfig” service. 3. Boot into Safe Mode with networking to check how it works. 4. Update the wireless driver to latest. Regarding how to check your Event log, please refer to the following article: What information appears in event logs (Event Viewer)? If you want to send the event logs to us, you can also use SkyDrive. Hope it helps. HI Alex, 1. I have uploaded the screenshot of the error. You will see the small error window which appears below at the tray. Also i lose the Aero Bar. 2. I have updated the regular updates and i think these maybe causing some problems. Not sure. recently on top of this error, i got the "Blue Screen" of some hardware failure. I managed to re-install the Nividia drivers again from the Nividia Website and this cured the trouble. 3. When this error occurs, i lose admin rights? So i am not able to open the sys event logs. 4. Pls tell me what files i shld send to you so that i can do it. Thanks for yr help. This problem is really irritating. rdgs, norin75 suresh
