Unable to connect to internet after installing security update
I downloaded a Windows Security update for Windows XP Professional yesterday and now I am unable to connect to the internet. This is most certainly the cause of my inability to connect. The security update was (KB975562). Can anyone please tell me how to get my internet working again? Thank you P.S. I have tried removing the update from Add/Remove programs but it says that this update cannot be removed which is weird because all my other updates can be removed.1 person needs an answerI do too

I have tried reinstalling the patch to no avail.I know that I cannot access the internet because no program that can connect to the internet is working. I have tried plugging the computer into different internet ports, which does not make a difference. Our home has functioning internet, because I am able to use it with other computers, just not this one.

Hi, Have you tried to install the update in Safe Mode?Also have you check the IP setup of the PC hasn't changed and is similar to the other PCs on your network?Also have a look at the Spuninst.exe utility that is located in the %Windir%\$NTUninstallKB975562$\Spuninst folder,which is another way to uninstall the patch.
