Unable to click on start menu
After logging in Windows 7 professional, unable to click on Start Menu or other icons like Time, wi-fi etc present on Taskbar. Even unable to shut down system due to this. Cleaned system with at least 3 different anti-virus programs but no use. Pls help, thanks in advance.

Hi Kris, When did the issue first occur? Did it occur after installing some software? You can first run System Restore to see if it works in the date before the issue first occurred. If the issue persists, does the issue occur in Clean Boot? If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we continue to narrow down which entry is causing the issue. Also, does the issue occur in a new user account? Besides, re-enable the explorer.exe process to check the result: 1. When the issue occurs, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc combine key to bring up Task Manager. 2. Click Processes tab. 3. Highlight explorer.exe and then click End Process. 4. Click File, New Task (Run…). 5. Type explorer.exe in the text box and then press ENTER. Hope this helps. Regards, Linda

Thanks Linda. Issue is there from at least a month. Tried system restore, no use. Problem occurred after installing some software only but now unable to remember after which software this happened. Problem is not there in safe mode.Works perfectly all right. Re-enabled explorer.exe couple of times but again problem is there. Even tried and stopped several startup procedures now only lenovo things are there in startup. Surprisingly unable to open the link of start menu and taskbar from control panel. Pls help.
