Installed new computers Lenovo with Windows 7 yesterday. Setup local printer ports that I needed and everything worked fine. There were 71 updates via MS Update and now I cannot create a local printer port and the printer ports I setup no longer work after updates. If I login as domain administrator it works. User is also in administrator group however; does not work. Very frustrated as I spent over 8 hours setting up computers and the MS Update broke my configuration. No one seems to know what to do message when trying to add new local printer port "ACCESS DENIED" I tried to uninstall the updates one at a time to see which one was causing the issue however; it is wat too time-consumimng so I bagged it and just recoved factory settings and did not install Microsoft Critical Updates. Again, only started after prompted to install 71 MS Updates - Tested before MS Updates worked fine - after updates does not work - Today I totally redid the new computers to factory settings. Setup everything as I needed and turned off Microsoft Updates. I did install 20 some Office Updates however; they did not affect the port. The other 44 updates that it said were critical, I did not install as one of them or a combination of them changes the ability for a user with Administrative rights to setup a local print port.

1. What are exact wording of error in Event logs? 2. Never use third party drivers through MS update channel, unless the vendor's support says Use it. 3. Have you installed basic drivers just after vanilla plain os install (chipset, audio, video, nic, usb 3,...)? 4. Give try to Lenovo support forum. Chances are that this is typical error for particular computer model. 5. Is it USB connection to printer? BTW this problem has nothing with networking if you use local printer and USB connectivity.
