Unable to activate Windows 7 Professional with MAK Key
I have been successful in activating our Windows 7 SP1 loaded computers until my last activation. I am using VAMT 2.0. I will allow me to load the appropriate MAK key but times out when I try to activate the key over the internet. A manual activation also fails with the same MAK key. I check the number of activations left on the MAK and there are plenty left. I get the following error: Windows Activation A problem occurred when Windows tried to activate. Error Code 0x80072EE2. For a possible resolution, click More Information. You can also contact Microsoft by phone to help resolve theis problem. All the other activations have worked. Other than calling Microsoft what else can I do if I get this timed error?

Okay, I found a way to activate using the VAMT 2.0 tool. I did a Proxy activate. The ports are not a problem since according to the following link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291983 Windows Product Activation uses the following ports: 80 - HTTP 443 - HTTPS Thanks to everyone who answered my question.
