Unable to activate Windows 7 Professional with MAK Key
I have been successful in activating our Windows 7 SP1 loaded computers until my last activation. I am using VAMT 2.0. I will allow me to load the appropriate MAK key but times out when I try to activate the key over the internet. A manual activation also
fails with the same MAK key. I check the number of activations left on the MAK and there are plenty left. I get the following error:
Windows Activation
A problem occurred when Windows tried to activate. Error Code 0x80072EE2.
For a possible resolution, click More Information.
You can also contact Microsoft by phone to help resolve theis problem.
All the other activations have worked. Other than calling Microsoft what else can I do if I get this timed error?

If the problem persists, post an MGADiag report - it may help identify the cause.
To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop -
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
- **in your own thread**, please
Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

The Validation result indicates that there is a problem connecting to the validation servers.
the Activation result shows that you would appear to have failed to activate the current install.
There are no specific errors in the report that I can see - so it may simply be a case of firewall problems not allowing the proper activation procedures.
You should check the firewall and proxy settings on the affected machines/networks.

Okay, I found a way to activate using the VAMT 2.0 tool. I did a Proxy activate. The ports are not a problem since according to the following link
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291983
Windows Product Activation uses the following ports:
80 - HTTP
443 - HTTPS
Thanks to everyone who answered my question.
