Unable to access the wireless network unless the wireless is switched on when the laptop starts up.
Hi All, We have Windows 7 at work. Our wireless network uses WPA2-Enterprise with AES Encyption and PEAP authentication. We have a problem where we are unable to access the wireless network unless the wireless is switched on when the laptop starts up. If the wireless is switched off on startup, once you switch it on Windows says that it couldn't connect to the network and requires your logon credentials. The network never accepts these and results in your AD account being locked. When you start the laptop with the wireless switched on, the network connects as soon as you log on, then works perfectly fine after that. Has anyone seen this before? If so, any help on how to resolve the issue? I have tried updating the drivers on the wireless card already to the latest drivers from intel's website, and have done testing to find the above results. Thanks PaulPaul

Hi Paul, When you start the laptop with the wireless turned on, click Start, input msconfig in the search box, press ENTER to open the System Configuration, in the Startup tabs, see if there's any third-party services need to load. Compare the startup items with you start the laptop without the wireless on. It might be some third-party service related issue, if you don't start it when startup, the wireless network cannot be connected. Also tell us the model of the laptop, let's find if there's any similar issue related with this. Regards, Miya Miya Yao TechNet Community Support
