Unable to access drive on Windows 7 machine from XP Pro machine
I am trying to access a hard drive on my Windows 7 machine, from my networked Windows XP Pro machine.
From the XP machine I can access all the shared drives on the Win7 machine, except for one.. the D: drive
When accessed from the Xp machine it returns the error -
\\David-pc\d is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. (Etc etc..)
Access is denied
I have double checked the sharing setup for drive D: and it is exactly the same as all the other shared drives that can be accessed from the Xp machine. It is just this one drive that is "resistant"! :)
Added:
I can access sub-directories on the D: drive when they are shared... but not the drive as a whole.

You may need to change the NTFS permission settings. Give Everyone full-control permission. If you disable Password Protected Sharing, please give the Guest full-control permission. Arthur Xie - MSFT
