Unable to access SOME shared folders on XP from Vista- Error code 0x80070005
I use a vista laptop and till recently I was able to access shared folders on any system on my office network. However for the past few weeks I am unable to access some folders. Error code 0x80070005. All systems on my office network use XP Professional. Only mine is Vista. I am able to access some Shared folders but not others. No change on my system or others. All settings are the same. Cant figure out why I can access some folders and not others.

Hi, Please confirm whether the share folders you can access and the ones you cannot access are on the same computer. The error code 0x80070005 means access is denied, I suspect that it is a permission related issue. If it is a domain environment, please check the permission settings on the share folders. If it is a work group environment, you may consider adding the same accounts and passwords to all of the computers on your network For example, if you have three computers in your office and four users that use them, add all four accounts with their passwords corresponding to the users to all three computers. When this is done, each user can access the shared folders of the other computers, regardless of which computer they are using.
