Unable to Move users between 2 Lync Pools

I am getting an error when moving users between one Lync Pool (this is Lync, not OCS R2) to another Lync Pool. I have tried moving a user through the GUI and Lync Shell. The environment is 2 pools dispersed across two sites behind hardware load balancers. Everything seems to be working fine except for moving users. When I attempt to move a user between pools I get the following error:

Move-CsUser : Unable to connect to some of the servers in pool "lyncpool02.domain.com" due to a Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) error.  Verify that Front End service is running on servers in this pool. If the pool is set up for load balancing, verify that load balancer is configured correctly. At line:1 char:12+ Move-CsUser <<<<  -identity "sip:lynctest3@domain.com" -Target "lyncpool02.domain.com" -verbose

I have done the following..

Verified that all Lync Services are running.

Verified that I can telnet over necessary ports to all front ends and lync pool vips, like port 135, 5061 etc etc..

Verified that I can move a user with the /force switch. This works, but obviously they lose all their contacts, which is not the solution.

Disable the loopback check following method 2 from the following article.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

It may due to FE servers unable to connect to its internal VIP. You can try to add a host file on the FE servers with 127.0.0.1 pool.FQDN.com.

In addition, please check if youve defined restricted range of ports for the RPC traffic. If so, you should open those ports on the firewall.

Make sure Port 135 is being load balanced. Alternatively use a hosts file to resolve the fqdn of the pool to a specific FE server in order to bypass the HLB.

Thanks for the Reply.

The firewall team has assured me that they see no blocked traffic when I attempt to move a user between pools. I also tried your suggestion of using a host file and adding the 127.0.0.1 for the front end associated pool to point to itself. This did not resolve the issue.

I have used a host file to point pool01 and pool02 directly at one of the front-end servers, and receive a different, but similar error.

Is there an error log generated that might give me some more inform

This has been resolved. It turned out to be an issue with the back-end database. We enabled Cross Database ownership Chaining on the Lync Databases on SQL.

Hi,  see before ?

Move-CsUser : Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) operation CompleteMoveAway failed "-1007781552".

Move-CsLegacyUser : Verify that WMI provider is installed by running OCSWMIBC.MSI. For details, see the inner exception.
