Un-identified Network access
Hi guys, wondering if anyone isexperiencingthis: most of the time when I go into Windows 7 the local area network is connected, but I can't access to the internet. I have another laptop running on Vista and it works perfectly fine via wireless. Router is Linksys WAG200G. And when I restart my PC once or twice then I can access to the internet again. Any solutions here? Its quire irritating when you have to restart the PC again and again. P.S I didn't install any driver or configure the internet (192.168....) at all.

In your network adaptor settings, try turning off (untick) IPV6 protocol, worked for me.

You don't say how the Win7 computer is connected to your network but if it is wireless is the wireless adapter set to power to when the machine is idle?

Hi Rjtrinka, my PC is connected wired. My router is always on 24/7. Thanks Majorday, will have that option done before I off my com. just wondering if it would pose any problems to my other connection (via laptop on Vista?)

Nope Majorday, it didn't work for me. but at least it reduced the restart times from 2 to 1.
