USB has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of it's hub Port ,  you should disconnect the device
Hello, I just recently changed out my RAM,  at the completion of changing out my RAM , i started to get an error message of "  USB has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of it's hub Port ,  you should disconnect the device", I started troubleshoot by disconnecting the devices from all USB Ports one by one and monitored the message.  It continued to appear even after all of the USB connections had been removed.   I cannot get a real answer from people posting on the internet about this problem.  Some say it's in the power management, some say it's a hardware issue that the USB port has gone band and needs to be replaced(but which one),  the message doesn't make clear which USB is failing.  IS THERE A WAY TO FIND OUT WHICH PORT IS FAILING.  Why wouldn't Micro soft put in a process that would check to see which Some say just turn off the notification of the error and ignore the problem.  Any information on how to fix would be greatly appreciated.

Try uninstalling the USB root hubs. Open Device manager, click on the symbol next to Universal Bus Controllers, right click on USB root hub and click on uninstall, you will see more than one USB root hub, uninstall all of them. Once uninstalled restart your computer, so windows reinstalls the driver, and then plug in the USB d

Hi gggmarquez,

Apart from S.Sengupta`s suggestion, we can try to check the Event Viewer for any warning or error messages recorded here.

Event Viewer\Windows Logs \Applications,System

Best regards
