USB Wireless Adaptor to Laptop Issue
Hi:The HP Laptop with XP getting 'Low' signal whenever I'm doing in the other room that is not too further away from the Router, about 60 - 70 feet away from it. Then, yesterday I got Netgear USB Adaptor in hope trying to get more signal. Because, a guy in the computer store told me installing USB Adaptor is 'booster' to get decent and more signal. When I installed Netgear Adaptor to the Laptop, there is no signal at all and popping up the following message in the middle of the screen, NETGEAR WG 111v3 Smart Wizard, WEP Create Passphrase and Key manuallyMy question is;How to install Netgear USB Adaptor to Laptop? Thanks for your help in advance.1 person needs an answerI do too

HiThe general notion that a USB adapter is sort of a Booster is false. I am not sure that you will get ant thing from the USB that you do not get from the Laptop.Depending on the physical environment, 60-70 feet indoor with walls is probably beyond the capacity of the Wireless Router. As for your specific question, it seems that the USB is installed correctly but need to adjust its security password to your current Wireless network. In general. My Wireless does not work - http://www.ezlan.net/wireless.htmlWireless Basic Configuration - http://www.ezlan.net/Wireless_Config.htmlWireless Security - http://www.ezlan.net/Wireless_Security.htmlExtending Distance - http://www.ezlan.net/Distance.html Jack-MVP Windows Networking.
