USB Ports cut out
I have an ASUS 990 FX motherboard and a six core AMD FX CPU. Windows 7 x64 w/SP1 and all updates as of today. AT first I thought this was an issue when I installed antivirus software but this happens reguardless. When I restart or reboot some but not all of my USB ports shut down. I go to device manager expand USB ports, some of them are yellow flagged. I delete the flagged items and windows reinstalls the drivers. Everythings fine until I reboot, then I start it all over again. Motherboard is brand new and has the latest BIOS and Chipset Drivers according to the ASUS website. I've disabled the power savings on all USB Hubs as suggested elseware but have not yet rebooted so I don't know if that worked.

1. I hope you installed chipset drive just after vanilla plain install (clen new install). 2. Try to remove ALL USB items and restart. USB would install properly. If not, give try to ASUS community. 3. If nothing helps, warranty claim is the next step. Regards Milos
