USB Modem not being picked up properly
Hello all, My boss is in Oz for a while and while there he is using Vodafone internet and it is working 100%. He recently got hold of Telstra Turbo Next G prepaid device that he wants to use before it expires. The problem is, when he puts it in to the laptop the modem is picked up, but the "storage" section of the device is not installed, so we cannot install the software. If I look at how the Vodafone device is running, in disk manager I can seen that it has a removable device with no partition so I assume that it is there as the modem. It also creates a CD ROM drive with the software on it. The Telstra device just creates the Removable device, but that no CD ROM drive. We have tried the device in another Win7 64bit and it worked, we have even tried a second device, and still the same thing. I have also disabled the AV, BitDefender, got him to reboot the notebook and selected to disable driver signature enforcement, I have tried to change the drive letter in Disk Manager none of these steps fixed the problem. In the device manager there is no error. An advice please folks. ThanxA user needs the admin password like nitro glycerine needs a good shake.

Well, is this the device- http://www.maxon.com.au/downloads.php?p=1 The user guide instructs one to install the manager software first, then connect the device. There is a compatibility .pdf. and firmware update, and new manager software. Maxon support is probably the best resource. You could have him check the event viewer, for a clue to the culprit.
