URL problem in all browsers on XP
I am having an intermittent problem loading web pages. I will type in a URL or click on a link, and the page will not load. When I look at the address bar, however, the domain name will be missing! The rest of the URL will still be there, but no domain name, so no wonder the web page won't load. This will happen for one particular website, or part of a website, and not go away for some time (usually, it's the end of the day and I don't try again until the next morning, so I don't know how long it takes). If I try it in another browser, it still happens, which makes me think this may be a "Windows problem" but I really have no idea where to begin to solve this problem and web searches have so far been useless. To spell this out a bit more, I will want to go to http://thisdomain.com/When I hit enter after typing in the URL or clicking on the link to that page, it won't load. If and the address bar will have http:///Alternatively, I am already at http://thatdomain.com/ and I want to navigate to the comments section, so I click on the link to http://thatdomain.com/comments and the page doesn't load. The address bar now says: http://commentsThis just started happening after IT swapped out my hard-drive a few weeks ago. It is really intermittent - maybe once or twice a week. I always browse the internet in Mozilla Firefox. Whenever this happens, if I switch to IE, it still won't load the page (but the address bar thing doesn't happen). 1 person needs an answerI do too
