UAG Array - Synchronization Status: Error

Hello All,

I have a UAG 2010 SP3 array with two nodes (UAG1 and UAG2).  The array member (UAG1) is showing its Synchronization Status as "Error."  UAG1 is serving clients and otherwise seems to be working normally.  I have rebooted each UAG box separately and have activated the config numerous times.  The "Error" status remains.

Another issue, whether related or unrelated, is that Activation Monitor lists UAG1 with a red "x".  The message window does not show any issues or error. It also reports that activation has been successful.

Thirdly, as a last resort, I attempted (multiple times) to remove UAG1 from the array but received an error message instead: "Event ID 136 - This server cannot be removed from the array"

If anyone has a suggestion on how I can resolve these issues, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks.

Hi A113,

Can you confirm both array members are at the same exact version ?

Best way is to compare one of the EXE files in the common\bin and confirm the version of those files identical.

If UAG versions are not identical, you will see the exact scenario you describe.

Hello Ophir,

I checked both members and they are both running 4.0.3123.10000 which of course is SP3.  Do you think SP3 Rollup 1 might help resolve the issues?

Thanks.

Hi,

Sometimes I had the problem that UAG needs a lot of time till it shows all green in the Array Monitor. I booted one server, server was up again and everything worked fine. Montior still showed "Error". I did nothing, get a Cup of coffee and after some time all changed to green. So maybe it just the factor time here?

Regards

Sebastian
