UAC Eleveated Permissions Questions.
Hi all, I spent the past two days at work setting up a central server for software deployment and license management. That was no issue, pretty cut and dry. So this is the current task I am looking into, all of the users on the network (running win 7 pro) are standard users for obvious reasons. I would like to keep them like this and just give them elevation for everything except installing software. So if they try to install software, it will still prompt for credentials and not allow them to proceed. But for other things this will become a hassle for me. The reason for this need is this..we are a web development company and we have inhouse servers that hold different data for jobs etc. Users need to be able to transfer files, install fonts for design, and other needs. Is there a way I can manipulate UAC to allow standard users to only be prompted for admin credentials when trying to install software, and elevate them above that for everything else? Thanks in advance. David
