UAC Appears when adding Sharepoint Site to Add Network Location
Hello
I am struggling with a minor issue with UAC.
When I try to add one of our Sharepoint Sites to my list of Mapped Drives etc using Add Network Location I get a UAC prompt. If I put in my standard credentials then the folder will add into Windows Explorer. Once added however navigation is really slow
between folders, almost as if more authentication is taking place.
If a mapped drive is added then there is no need for UAC.
In our Internet Explorer settings we have set "Logon Options" to "Automatic Logon with current username and password" for all zones
Any help appreciatedLee Bowman MCITP MCTS

Hi Lee,
This
behavior
is by design.
User Account Control (UAC) notifies you before changes are made to your computer that require administrator-level permission. The default UAC setting
notifies you when programs try to make changes to your computer, but you can change how often UAC notifies you. See:
What are User Account Control settings?

Hello
Thanks for the reply, however when UAC appears it is not because an administrator is required. Inputting the standard (same) user's credentials allow the Network Location to be added.
Any thoughtsLee Bowman MCITP MCTS

Hi Lee,
Are you sure this is the UAC prompt? Also, what’s your setting for the UAC?
If it asked for your standard credential, I think this should be configured by your network administrator not the UAC feature. I suggest confirming with
the network administrator.
If there is any doubt, you may capture a screenshot of the prompt for our further research:

and then click "Save".
