Two Networks
Hi,This is related to the thread posted earlier.http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/xpnetwork/thread/f7ba4c33-35a1-4e81-87ba-9d9251ec4d27?prof=required&lc=1033&ppud=4I had a problem the way it was explained by Jack. I made two networks with two network cards on each computer. One is wireless and the other card is wired lan on both the computers. Wireless network cards are connected to the wireless router which is co DSL modem and so internet. The other is wired network connected to other router to which Asus gizmo is connected. First Network router has the ip address 192.168.3.254 and IPs of computers are 192.168.3.4 and 192.168.3. And bothese addresses are static and I wrote default gateway address as IP address of the router. Second Network router has the IP address 192.168.15.1 and IPS of computers are 192.168.15.2 and 192.168.15.4. Both these addresses are static and I did not write the default gateway addresses in the network card TCP/IP rties menu. The gizmo address is 192.168.15.3 and this is also static and I wrote the default gateway address in this. Both the routers DHCP is disabled. As I would not connect any further computers to it. On both the computers LogmeIn client is running. Now the problem I encountered is the wired connection on both the computers gets disconnected and reconnects as said "Cable unplugged". So when watching movie on TV through Asus gizmo suddenly the screen freezes and unfreezes and the movie runs. On the computer I notice the connectiion on the systray says"Cable unplugged" and again vanishes and here the movie goes on. Is there any memory or driver issue. On both the computers it is happening like this. One is running Media Center Edition 2002 with SP3 and the other one running XP Professional with SP3. Please help. Thanks1 person needs an answerI do too

Connection dropout will not in any case be caused by IP-numbering issues. More likely it is caused by cabling problems, e.g. failure to follow correct RJ45 pinouts, or by faulty powersave options.http://mylogon.net/support/psavemight be one reason.

I disabled the powersaver option on the cards. But still it is the same. Both the computers' LAN card connection is breaking even though I am not doing any thing on both the computers. But it is happening only to LAN card connection and not on wireless connection. Anything more to check.

Anything more to check.I am having the same problem: Land disconects in 1-2 seconds than back, saying no cable conected to him.I have installed an usb2lan device, using the same cable: got th same problem.I have isntalled an usb wireless lan device: it works perfectly. No problem, just I got bandth limit :)I have upgraded the home premium vista to win 7: same problemI have changed the cable: same problem. My conclusion is: or a windows settings it is(turned off what I could like network discowery, power saving and so on) or a controller in motherboard :(I should try a non windows OS on fresh install (like ubuntu), not in a wirtual pc and the host OS to be this.
