We have two Lync central site with separate lync pool. now we want to deploy edge server for each lync central site.

Now my query is :-

1. How the conference flow will work if both lync pool users participates in one lync conference ?

2. How the Lync edge A/V call flow will work ?

1) Whichever pool hosts the user who initiated the meeting will host the conference. So A/v traffic will flow to that front end pool regardless of what pool the participants belong to.

2) Media will flow through the edge assigned to the front end pool hosting the conference, this edge/fe connection is defined in the topology builder. Again, this is true regardless of the pool the participants belong to.

With lync 2013 it depend on, which edge pool is assigned to the fe pool.

If a lync user connect to the wrong edge pool, the user will redirected to the assigned edge for his pool.

The A/V flow will always go from both edge to the pool of the conference leaders home pool
