Two Local Networks on my pc??? Please help. I dont understand.
First off im not at all familiar with the technical aspects of computers. I have windows xp home edition. My problem is this...I was on my computer today and i noticed that under my network places tab it says i have two networks one is Actiontec m1000 the other is Actiontec tr64m1000. I have a cable/dsl connection to the internet. Is it weird to have these two together? Also, under my network connections tab under internet gateway it says "Local area connection on Actiontec m1000 Connected" Under LAN or Highspeed internet it says " Local Area Connection Connected/Firewalled Broadcom xtreme.....(ehternet card i suppose)" Does this seems odd to anyone to have these two connected at the same time? When I go to right click on the one under the internet gateway click properties and click settings and error message pops up and says " The Interent Connection Sharing cvomputer is not configured to let network users control or disable the shared internet connection. This setting can be changed in the Advanced Properties of the shared connection on the Internet Sharing Computer." Someone please help me.1 person needs an answerI do too
