You probably used TweakUI to set up automatic logon and entered the wrong password or your account or the wrong account. Log into the built-in Administrator's account from Safe Mode (assuming you have XP Home) and undo whatever it was you did. If you don't have XP Home but have Pro/Media Center instead, then you don't need to go into Safe Mode. Just do Ctrl-Alt-Del at the Welcome Screen to get the classic logon box. Use "Administrator" (without the quotes) and enter in the real password or, if you didn't assign a password, leave that field blank. If you set up an automatic login you can also bypass that and get to the Welcome Screen by holding down the Shift key as you're booting into Windows. If you have XP Pro or Media Center and were using the built-in Administrator for your daily work and it really is the only user account on the system (and now you can see why this isn't recommended), then all is not lost. Regrettably,Microsoft doesn't permit us to tell you how in these forums. Their house, their rules. Use Google or ask a local computer tech (not a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place). If you have questions, please do post back but with the understanding that we can't help you any further regarding circumventing passwords here in the MS Answers Forums.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

Hi cindypcdoctor,Tweak UI is one of the Microsoft's PowerToys that gives you access to system settings that are not exposed in the Windows XP default user interface, including mouse settings, Explorer settings, taskbar settings, and more. For more information, visit the link below:http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspxRegarding your second question, it appears that the user lost his/her admin password. If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Propose as Answer" If you find it helpful , mark it as helpful by clicking on "Vote as Helpful" button at the top of this message. Hi v-6jayde - "cindypcdoctor" is a spammer who has plagued these forums for months. S/he was supposed to have been banned. However, just banning spammers is useless because they just come back under another name. It was very nice of you to try and reply to her/him, but you can't have a dialog with a spammer.I am locking this thread now since there is nothing further we can do for the OP here in the MS Answers Forums anyway.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
