Turning UAC off with GPO - is it working?
Good morning everyone, A little problem with UAC so I wonder if anyone here has any ideas how to solve it. I am trying to turn off UAC for Domain Admins and have set the GPO as advised on the following website: http://www.iishacks.com/index.php/2009/01/17/disable-user-account-control-uac-in-windows-7/ I'm assuming the GPO has assigned itself as it does not show any issues when I run gpresult /r However, when I log into the Domain Admin account I cannot open the 'Manage' option (which has a shield next to it) from Start Menu>Computer>Manage I am immediately prompted for credentials. I can enter them (as the Domain Admin) but I get box telling me that 'This operation requires elevetaed privelidges'. - This is for explorer.exe From what I gather, I can access everything else - Control Panel etc. Any help appreciated, Gareth

Changing the settings in Control Panel will only applied to the current computer. If you would like to change the UAC settings for domain clients, please create GPO and change the policies’ settings by referring the step “Disable UAC via Group Policy” in the website you provided.Arthur Xie - MSFT
