Turn on BitLocker for Drive D: Only
I have Vista SP1 installed which allows BitLocker to encrypt volumes other than C: (the drive Windows is installed on). I have 2 partitions on my PC andhave consequently turned on BitLocker for both C: and D: partitions (I couldn't just turn on BitLocker for Drive D - I had to turn on Drive C before I could turn on Drive D). However, can I now turn off BitLocker on Drive C:and is it possible to ONLY have partition d: encrypted with BitLocker? Thanks

Hi, We cannot turn on BitLocker on Drive D without Drive C , which is by designed, for a better safe of files. For example, If we can turn off BitLocker on Drive C and you are editing an encryption DOC file on Drive D, an unexpected system shutdown was encountered. After reboot the computer, some Word temporary files can be found on the Drive C, someone can gather the files to revert this DOC file. It is not a good news to a encryption DOC file. So, we must turn on BitLocker on Drive C first before other volumes. Thank you for your understanding.
