Turn off Organize in Windows 7 Explorer
Okay! I'm going to try a different approach. I am creating a windows 7 image for use on public access computers in a library. I don't want my patrons navigating to other computers on the network. Unfortunately Network is visible and accessible in
the Navigation pane in Windows Explorer. I finaly figured out that I can hide the Navigation pane in Organize > Layout. But I can't figure out a way to prevent my patrons from simply re-sellecting the Navigation pane the same way. To be honest I'd like
to get rid of the entire bar that Organize, System Properties, Map network drive, etc. is on. This bar is a huge security hole for me. Does anyone know how to get rid of this bar and prevent a user from restoring it?tweaton

No we cannot remove that bar. However you can deny some users from accessing certain resources. You can just turn off Network Discovery to prevent users from accessing network computers via Network. Non-administrators cannot configure this option.

Well Arthur; That would be great if it would work but it does not. I tried dissabling network discovery, file and printer sharing and public folder sharing. But when I go to Windows explorer and click on the Network icon in the Navigation Pane I can still
see every computer on the network. It's strange because I have another computer with windows 7 on it that has never been sysprep'd and I can dissable network discovery on it. But that's not the only problem. There are several other options on this bar that
leave our public computers vulnerable. What I realy need is a way to dissable features on this bar. For example, if I could prevent access to the Organize button then users could not do things like making the Navigation Pane visible.
Thenk you for your feedback anyway.
