Trying to have Avira and Defender on computer
I have heard that you can't have two antivirus programs on your computer at the same time - however - this is microsoft and I would think that they would make their product compatible with other spyware. What do you think?1 person needs an answerI do too

Avira is an antivirus program and Windows Defender is an antispyware program. There is no reason they won't work together. You don't want two antivirus programs installed and you don't want two antispyware programs running resident. This is not the case in the situation you described. However, I think the free version of MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware is better than Windows Defender on XP. Update and run it routinely manually.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
