Trying to convert files from old laptop to new one using M'Soft Easy Transfer---getting error code "can't access domain"
I am tryint to transfer files from my IBM laptop to my new Toshiba laptop. NEITHER ARE ON A NETWORK. At one point, my laptop was set-up to connect to my company's network remotely and when I left the company, I may have inadvertently deleted a key file from my hard drive e.g. Microsoft Exchange Server. I copied files from the old system (IBM) to an external hard drive, then plugged it into the new laptop, which acknowledged the files on the external hard drive but I didn't know where to go next when I got the "can't access the domain" error. Any suggestions?

Hi, Which file is transferred via Easy Transfer when the error message pops up? To troubleshoot the issue, I suggest you run the Easy Transfer in Safe Mode for a test. Run Windows Safe Mode 1) Detach all unnecessary peripheral devices from your computer, such as printers, scanners and removable storage devices. 2) Restart the computer. 3) Keep pressing the F8 key until the Windows Startup menu appears. 4) Choose Safe Mode, and press Enter. 5) Try copy out the Favorites folder to a USB flash drive in Safe Mode to see if the issue still exists. Note: In Safe Mode, your system display and Desktop will look and perform differently than in Normal Mode. This is only temporary. If the error message persists, please help to capture the error message and upload it for research. Thanks, Novak
