The main computer in my home wireless network was recently changed from XP to Vista OS. Since the change I have not been able to access my Linksys wireless G router from my upstairs bedroom computer with a Linksys wireless B adapter. I had no problem before I switched to Vista OS on the networks main computer. The network is availabel under "View available wireless networks" but when I try and connect an error message saying. "windows can't connect to this wireless network. You may be out of range". I can't seem to figure out the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks!

Hi, Thank you for your post. Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following: 1. Please check the following information: 1) Ensure the router andLinksys wireless B adapter are compatible with Windows Vista. 2) The driver and utility are for Windows Vista and installed properly. 2. I suspect you are using another network management utility, please switch to the system built-in tool andcheck the results. 3. Please check the router settings: I just noticed that the router supports G type; however the wireless adapter supports B. Please check the router settings and ensure that the wireless router is also configured to support B type as well. 4. Based on my experience, the issue may also be related to the device drivers of the wireless chipsets and the firmware of the wireless router. Therefore, please check if there are any updates for the wireless adapter driver, utility or the wireless router firmware. 5. If the wireless router is a removable device, please plug it to another computer and see if it works. Considering the issue is related to the hardware, it is recommended that you contact Linksys for technical support.
